Sir Cliff, who recently turned 70, admitted he is working with Gest, who is the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli, after he came up with a new idea for a record.
According to UK newspaper Daily Express, Richard said: 'The New Year has an exciting project.
'David Gest, of I'm A Celebrity... [Get Me Out Of Here] has come up with the idea of me doing a CD - Cliff Richard Sings Soul with various Motown soul artists. We are working now on the details.'
Gest is best known for his participation in the UK reality show as well as his marriage to Minnelli and his friendship with the Jackson family.
