Rising Australian pop idol Cody Simpson signs licensing agreements with a whopping 16 brands.
A press release from his label Atlantic Records has announced a slew of licensing hook-ups, which sees Simpson endorsing everything from flip-flops to home textiles to "lenticular items" (which is a form of 3D-style printing), before he's even released a full-length album.
While the blond poppet has just turned 15 and only released two EPs, he's accumulated 100 million views on YouTube, over two million Facebook followers and just under two million Twitter followers, as well as sharing management with Justin Bieber. Those are some valuable marketing opportunities.
The Senior Vice President of Warner Music Group's Consumer Products and Brand Licensing, Sara Nemerov, said, "We are excited to partner with such fabulous companies on the Cody Simpson collection. Our licensees are pushing the creative dial on products and we are working closely with our retail partners to be sure product is right."
This must've taken an enormous amount of work, as the scope of the branding is huge. Check out the list of products you're soon likely to see Simpson's pretty face on.
