The Hole singer caused a fire in the swanky 1827 New York townhouse with candles in June. Now, according to the owner, she has also 'ruined' hand-finished walls by painting over them.
The very disgruntled landlady, Donna Lyon, also claims that Love owes her $54,000 in rent.
Lyon, 60, who owns her own business, learned of Courtney's 'horrifying' handiwork when she had an agent go over to take pictures of the inside, in preparation for the planned sale of the home.
'The hand-painted and glazed walls were completely ruined, she has covered them in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint,' said Lyon who bought the property for $8 million.
The former wife of Kurt Cobain has been living in the $324,000-a-year rental for ten months and she's managed to completely spoil the interior, says Lyon's lawyer Norman Flitt.
'Love has taken an historical house that was refurbished by an acclaimed designer, and has taken it upon herself to redecorate it. It is tantamount to destroying a work of art,' he said.
Lyon claims that Love, 46, has caused so much damage that it could cost up to $100,000 and take 12 weeks to repair.
'It was beautifully decorated by the previous owner, interior designer Steven Gambrel. One of the requirements of the lease is that nothing should be done to the interiors,' she said.
The case will hit Manhattan's civil court on December 21.
Calls to Love and her rep were not returned.
