Hole frontwoman Courtney Love is embroiled in a defamation suit over tweets about a fashion designer.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Love is being sued over insulting comments she posted on twitter about designer Dawn Simorangkir.
The designer claims that Love published a series of tweets which painted her as 'a drug-pushing prostitute with a history of assault and battery who lost custody of her own child and capitalized on Love's fame before stealing from her'.
Simorangkir and Love were in a dispute over thousands of dollars worth of clothes that Love had apparently not paid for.
The comments, which appeared on twitter, myspace and online clothes and crafts portal Etsy, stretched over four days in March.
Love has already given a deposition and is off to a Los Angeles court on January 18, her attorney's will reportedly claim her mental state was not "subjectively malicious" enough to justify the lawsuit.
Her lawyer James Janowitz claimed, 'We don't believe there's any defamation, and even if there were defamatory statements, there was no damage.'
