Courtney Love urges Amanda Bynes to "ignore the haters".
The troubled actress was arrested on Thursday night for possession of marijuana, attempted evidence tampering and reckless endangerment.
She apparently threw a bong out of the window of her New York City apartment onto the street below.
Amanda has vehemently denied smoking cannabis, claiming she is allergic to it and only smokes tobacco.
After a series of bizarre tweets posted by Amanda after her detainment, Courtney requested on Monday via Twitter that the former TV star "pull it together dude".
Amanda responded defensively tweeting that Courtney is "the ugliest woman I've ever seen".
Courtney has had public issues with substance abuse in the past as well and commiserates with Amanda's plight.
The musician told the actress she supports her in this dark time.
"@AmandaBynes @eonline Amanda, I wasn't attacking you love. I've been in your shoes before, wasn't easy. DM me, let's talk. Ignore the haters," Courtney wrote on Twitter Tuesday.
Courtney also requests the public give Amanda a break.
She believes chastising the 27-year-old star is cruel.
"Will you people lay off on giving this girl such grief? Shes a beautiful talented young woman, we all go through our ups and downs. grow up! (sic)," Courtney wrote.
Over the weekend Amanda began a Twitter feud with Rihanna.
She told the Barbadian beauty "@rihanna you look so ugly tryin to be white" before stating she deserved to be assaulted in 2009 by then boyfriend Chris Brown.
Rihanna responded to the nasty comments promptly.
"Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention?" the singer mused.
