The 47-year-old widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who has famously battled a drink and drug addiction in the past, says she wants to help the former Mean Girls star to beat her demons.
The 25-year-old former child star, who has been in rehab five times, has reportedly vowed to get her life back on track after recently being sentenced to jail for violating the terms of her probation.
Love told Details magazine: 'I've taken up Lohan because nobody else will. She's further down the line than I was, because there was no [celebrity website] TMZ then.'
Love didn't reveal any more details about her relationship with Lohan – who has since been released from prison after serving only a few hours of her 30-day sentence and is currently completing her court-ordered community service.
Lohan is yet to comment on the US rocker's remarks.
