Courtney Love's dramatic loss of weight has sparked fears for her health.
The Hole singer raised concerns after photographs were released of her looking gaunt as she stepped out of a cab in New York this week.
An onlooker said: "Courtney looked worryingly thin, like skin and bones. Her figure is so tiny that it made her head look too big for her body."
Courtney - widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994 – has previously battled fluctuating weight and admitted to having an eating problem.
Earlier this year she confessed she had wanted to get a gastric band fitted to limit her intake of food but was told by doctors she was not fat enough.
She said: "If I could get a gastric band I would. I've heard it's a lot of vomiting and a pain in the a*s, but it's still easier than a diet."
Courtney was believed to be in New York visiting a bank in connection with a $350,000 lawsuit American Express has filed against her over an alleged unpaid credit card.
In a separate incident she claims her late husband's $750 million legacy has been stolen after thieves set up bank accounts and made property deals in her name.
