CYPRESS HILL has announced dates for a string of North American and European shows set to kick off May 11th at the Warehouse in Houston, Texas. Fans attending the shows will see the group (emcees B-Real and Sen Dog, DJ Julio G and percussionist Eric Bobo) tearing through a set list blending classic tracks with new favorites such as "Rise Up" and "Armada Latina," both featured on the upcoming album RISE UP, in stores April 20th. For ticket information, please visit www.cypresshill.com.
Prior to the May dates, Cypress Hill will be previewing songs from the new album with a string of special shows beginning April 10th in Philadelphia. On April 19th, they'll give a special outdoor stage performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," where they'll be joined by Rage Against The Machine/Street Sweeper Social Club/The Nightwatchman guitarist TOM MORELLO (who pulled double duty as the producer and co-writer of the single "Rise Up"). System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan and Deftones bassist Sergio Vega will also sit in for this special event. On April 20th, Cypress Hill will celebrate the album's release with a show at The Warfield in San Francisco. The band also taped a performance on the roof of the legendary Capitol Records building in Hollywood, which will air April 14 as part of a Yahoo! Maximum Performance special. In August, Cypress Hill will join Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson and Phoenix as part of the Mile High Festival and Soundgarden, Green Day and Lady Gaga as part of Lollapalooza 2010.
Cypress Hill has debuted the full length music video for "Armada Latina" on MTV. The track creatively fuses together a variety of musical styles including hip-hop, salsa, and soul while creatively using a sample from Crosby, Stills & Nash's "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes." "Armada Latina" features special guest appearances from singer/songwriter Marc Anthony and rapper Pitbull and will appear on the hip-hop legends first studio album under the Priority/EMI label, Rise Up.
In addition to the "Armada Latina" video premiere, check out the MySpace exclusive Artist On Artist interview featuring Cypress Hill and Snoop Dogg. Snoop and the Cypress guys discuss how they came together to put out Rise Up through Snoop's label, Priority Records.
RISE UP is Cypress Hill's first new album in six years and features an all-star guest lineup, including Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda, System Of A Down guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian, Everlast, Young De, Evidence, The Alchemist and comic legends Cheech & Chong.
