The stars have been featured in a number of adverts for the British retailer but it's claimed bosses are worried that their loyal older customers will turn away from the brand because they are targeting younger people.
Celebrities will now be dropped from the new adverts in a bid to lure back their older customers.
A source said to UK newspaper Daily Star: 'It's going to be back to basics from now on. They want more of the focus to be on the clothes, not who's wearing them.'
The source added: 'Thanks to those adverts more women in their late 20s and early 30s have been shopping in M&S. Axing these glam adverts is bold but could backfire by driving the new generation of customers away.'
