Dannii Minogue: Kylie and I confuse our father

The Australian singers are very close, and love spending time together. Although they have very different personalities they find the same things funny, including playing pranks on their dad Ron.

Ron thinks that Dannii, Kylie and their mother Carol all sound similar, so they like to baffle him whenever they have the chance. “We’re complete salt and pepper, Kylie and I are complete opposites in our personalities and how we are. Our mannerisms are a lot the same, she’ll sometimes say something and I’ll go, ‘Oh, that was me,’ or, ‘That was mum.’ The three of us are really similar,” Dannii explained. “We all sound identical on the phone and we all do the same thing. We’ll call the home phone and my dad will pick up and we go, ‘Hi, it’s me...’”

Dannii is currently promoting her autobiography Dannii: My Story, and is thrilled with how well it has done. She has been overwhelmed by how many fans have got in touch with her to praise the tome, with young people often telling her it’s the only book they have ever bought.

In it, Dannii touches on her feud with Sharon Osbourne. The pair both judged British talent contest The X Factor for a time, and Dannii says Sharon once burst into her dressing room and made her cry.

“I never imagined myself doing it but just got to point where I felt ready. It felt like a whole part of my life was coming to a close and it was time to just review that,” she said on UK television show This Morning. “It’s funny because I was just so looking forward to working with Sharon, she was the one I thought, ‘Oh I’ll have fun with her,’ it just never happened. I don’t know what it was that upset her. She goes on about her hatred for me but I have no time and energy to have enemies, it’s just not my thing.”
