TAYLOR HAWKINS has called bandmate Dave Grohl a control freak in the studio - but the "nicest you'll ever meet".
The Foo Fighters' drummer said frontman Grohl tells him what to do but they work together well.
Speaking to NME.com, he said: "He's a complete control freak. But he's the nicest control freak you'll ever meet in your life.
"He tells me what to do but we work off each other as well."
Hawkins also revealed that Grohl, who played drums in Nirvana before fronting Foo Fighters, will always be a drummer "first and foremost" and will often criticise his drumming style.
He added: "He's a drummer first and foremost. He's become a great singer and songwriter but he's a drummer first.
"When we're working together on music, not only do you have one drummer's ideas but you have two of them coming from totally different places."
