Dave Grohl wanted to marry Gillian Anderson.
The Foo Fighters frontman is currently endorsing the band's latest album, Sonic Highways, and visited the UK as part of his promotional tour.
Last night he appeared on British TV programme The One Show alongside the 46-year-old actress, best known as Special Agent Dana Scully in sci-fi show The X-Files, and Dave fought hard to contain his excitement.
"I had no idea what The One Show really was. It was kind of hilarious. There's actually a skit on SNL, Saturday Night Live, that really reminds me of The One Show. And at that point I'd been awake for 36 hours and felt like I was tripping. I was like, what is going on here? But the ladies were really funny," he told BBC Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw.
"Plus Gillian Anderson from The X-Files was there, and I mean I was OBSESSED with The X-Files and I wanted to marry... She was the one person who I was like, 'We're gonna get married. One of these days, she and I will finally meet and this will finally happen.' So last night I was just sitting next to her like, [whispers] 'It's Gillian Anderson, oh my God.' I don't even know what I said or how I answered the questions; I was just looking at her like, 'She's so beautiful.'"
As part of co-hosting the radio show, the 45-year-old musician took part in a showbiz quiz, with one of the questions centred on Kim Kardashian's new risqué photoshoot. The 34-year-old reality star bared all for Paper magazine and Dave has witnessed her derrière first hand while out with his daughters; Violet, eight, Harper Willow, five, and three-month-old Ophelia Saint, who he has with wife Jordyn Blum.
"I think it's probably a lot bigger than that meteor they're trying to land the thing on. Her butt? I did actually [see it in real life]," he recalled. "Once I was taking my kids to their ballet class and she was at some gym, some crazy gym that was next door... And she walked by, and it is a lot like an optical illusion. It's the biggest, most unreasonable butt you've ever seen in your life."
