DAVID BYRNE has revealed that he nearly ran down Paris Hilton.
The Talking Heads star said he was on his bike in Manhattan when he almost crashed into the heiress.
Writing in his upcoming memoir Bicycle Diaries, he said: "She was holding her little doggie, crossing the street against the light and looking around as if to say, 'I'm Paris Hilton, don't you recognise me?"
He also moaned that New Yorkers have "enough brains not to walk in front of a truck, but they'll step right into the path of a cyclist, thereby initiating a game of urban chicken."
