David Gilmour and his wife, Polly Samson, weren't expecting any surprises when they renovated their East Sussex, England mansion but they ended up with one big problem.
An unexploded World War II German bomb was found under the building which forced the couple from their home while the Royal Navy bomb squad was called in for removal. The almost five-foot long bomb was safely removed.
The incident last Thursday was announced by Samson on Twitter:
Well, this is exciting. We've all been evacuated because they've found a bomb under our building site!
We think it's a bit of old pipe but MOD on their way.
They're here *sticks fingers in ears*
They've taken away *our* bomb. Incendiary but missing the bit that makes it go bang.
Bomb disposal people now having an ice cream.
