Some stars begin prepping for a big night like the 53rd Grammy Awards as early as the start of the day. But electro-dance producer David Guetta was so far behind schedule that he didn't even make it to the ceremony in time to collect the coveted award for his remix of Madonna's "Revolver" in the Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical category.
Guest correspondent Snooki caught up with Guetta during MTV News' live-stream broadcast of the Grammy red carpet Sunday night, and she spoke to the producer about his big win.
"Well, I'm really happy," the casually dressed hitmaker gushed. "I'm probably the only artist that won a Grammy [who] was late, so I couldn't collect it." When asked why he arrived so late to the ceremony, the producer/DJ admitted that the high volume of traffic held up his appearance. Guetta's award win was announced prior to the televised CBS broadcast along with dozens of other categories.
With an evening full of high-energy performances and star-studded appearances, Guetta wasn't going to let his tardiness prevent him from enjoying the industry event, saying, "So I came late to collect my Grammy, but I'm still happy. I'm upset with myself, but still happy."
After the Snooks expressed her appreciation for Guetta's fist-pumping beats, the reality starlet asked the producer about his in-the-works collaboration with R&B star extraordinaire Usher.
"Yeah, I think you Twittered it, right?" he asked the co-host. "I don't know how everybody knows about it. I don't even know that it's possible. Yeah, we're trying to do something together. It would be amazing."
