Members of The Eagles, Death Cab For Cutie and Cheap Trick are to make guest appearances on Foo Fighters' forthcoming eighth album.
Sonic Highways, which is set for release on 10 November, contains just 8 tracks - each written in a different US city. This recording process is also the subject of the band's documentary of the same name.
In an interview with NME, bassist Nate Mendel said: "We wrote the bulk of the songs back in Los Angeles, so it was more of a matter of experiencing each place learning about the studio and then bringing in guest musicians."
He added: "In Seattle we had Ben Gibbard from Death Cab For Cutie, in the desert outside Los Angeles it was Joe Walsh from The Eagles for a classic southern California feel - and, sure enough, suddenly our song has layers of 'Hotel California' in it."
Those aren't the only guests though - in fact, "almost every one of the [songs] takes a left turn and goes off on some psychic odyssey with guest musicians in the middle," Mendel told the magazine.
