Dinosaur Jr will be releasing the second single to be taken from their new album "I Bet On Sky" on November 5th. Entitled 'Pierce The Morning Rain', It follows the release of the 6 Music A listed single 'Watch the Corners' and comes to us via Play It Again Sam.
The track, which debuted at SPIN.com is a song that Mojo described as "doesn't so much open the throttle as push it gloriously through the floor".
'I Bet on Sky' was released on September 17th 2012 and is the third Dinosaur Jr. album since the original trio – J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph – reunited in 2005. It marks the band's 10th studio album since their debut on Homestead Records in 1985. The Guardian commented "Wistfulness aches at its heart" whilst the Observer noted "there's plenty of life in them yet". Artocker described it as "bursting with guitar-driven melodic brilliance" and Classic Rock as "Cranked-up sadcore from the Robert Smith of sludge metal." Uncut thought that the band were "still a compelling a mix of hardcore, jangle pop, country and speed metal as it was 25 years ago" whilst Kerrang said "these dinosaurs won't be extinct any time soon."
Following a successful run of European festival appearances over the summer the band will kick off a massive tour next week in Toronto that will end in December with a 25th anniversary celebration at Terminal 5 in New York, of 'You're Living All Over Me'.
