Donny Osmond returns to Las Vegas show after injury

Donny Osmond recently had surgery on his gluteus maximus, which he tore while jumping up onto the piano during a number in his Las Vegas show with sister Marie. The operation to fix the injury caused Osmond to drop from the show with Marie bringing in a number of replacements for Donny while he was away.

On September 3, Donny will return to the show, although he is making a couple of changes to accommodate the injury. He explains in this letter that was posted to his website.


There have been a lot of reports out there about what's happened to me these last few weeks, so I want to set the record straight.

I recently underwent a fairly routine but a fairly invasive surgery which is requiring a lot of rehab, recovery time and that I stay off my feet. Today, I'm happy to report that I'm doing much better, and will return to Las Vegas on September 3.

Because of the nature of the injury, there will be some changes made to the show in Vegas. But, if there is one mantra I've lived with throughout my life, it's that "the show must go on!" And, that's exactly what I'm going to do. And, hey… why not throw in a few new elements to the Donny & Marie Show.

Aside from my return to Vegas in September, Marie and I will also tour 15 cities across the United States this holiday season.
