Eminem's Hollywood return will have to wait a bit longer, after Dreamworks shelved plans to make his boxing movie Southpaw.
No explanation for the film, which was due to start shooting in 2012, was given, but it is believed that the studio thought they had too many films relating to boxing or fighting in development at the moment.
Southpaw would have marked the rapper's first film since his semi-autobiographical effort 8 Mile in 2002.
The plot involved a boxer who has to overcome misfortune to rise to the top of the game.
Eminem would have played an up-and-coming welterweight fighter.
The project will now be pitched to other studios, with Training Day director Antoine Fuqua still on board.
Eminem is set to headline the V Festival next weekend.
