Duran Duran have issued a statement regarding their highly publicised lawsuit in which they're suing the company that runs their own fanclub.
Yesterday, it was reported that the club, managed by the company Worldwide Fan Clubs, were being sued by the pop icons failing to deliver on several agreements from a contract signed in 2010 where WFC signed up to create and manage the band's fan club - with it said that the band were owed several payments.
But now, the band have issued the following statement on their official website:
"Duran Duran value and respect their many fans around the world and feel compelled to correct the media's misrepresentation of its lawsuit against Worldwide Fan Clubs, Inc.
"The Band emphatically states that the lawsuit is not against its loyal fans but simply seeks to protect its rights against the company that formerly managed its fan club.
"Duran Duran have now brought their official fan community in-house and continue to make every effort to provide the highest level of service."
WFC reportedly agreed to be responsible for the sales and inventory of Duran’s merch, collecting membership fees, and maintaining accounting records, while splitting the profits in the ratio of 75-25 in favor of Duran.
Duran Duran's lawyers argue that that WFC failed to keep accurate financial records are yet to deliver the agreed payments.
Meanwhile, the band are currently working on their 14th studio album, the follow-up to 2010's acclaimed All You Need Is Now.
