Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon underwent an MRI scan this week leading to the band's current touring schedule being out on hold.
Five more Duran Duran shows in Paris, Den Haag, Brussels, Copenhagen and Stockholm were cancelled as doctors continue to diagnose the voice problems Le Bon has been having.
At his Twitter account Le Bon updated fans saying more shows were cancelled '...due to a continuing voice problem that I have been experiencing'.
'There has been a little improvement to my voice in the last 3 weeks. This I'd put down to the inflammation on my vocal folds clearing up'.
'There is obviously some underlying problem which is not shown by laryngoscopy'.
' really appreciate the concern being shown by so many of you. I'm also aware that worry and anxiety work against my recovery...'
'...so I'm really trying to remain positive. It's difficult to stay relaxed when you feel like fighting hard. I'm doing an MRI scan tomorrow'.
Meanwhile, John Taylor took his frustrations at being off the road onto Twitter. 'okay I admit it- I'm depressed. Missing the adrenaline. Now I know why it's known as DOWN time,' he tweeted today.
'Depression=Anger turned inward. Frustrated that I can't do anything to help my bandmate,' he continued 'and being a self-centred narcissist, am holding myself responsible in some unexplainable way.'
Duran Duran are talking each week one week at a time at the moment. They hope to resume their European tour in Helsinki in June 18.
