Echo & The Bunnymen have just announced they are to celebrate their 30th Anniversary with a massive hometown show at Liverpool Echo Arena on Thursday 27th November 2008.
The band, accompanied by an orchestra, will be performing their classic album 'Ocean Rain' in full, as well as songs from their forthcoming album and classic Bunnymen tracks. The performance will mark Echo & The Bunnymen's 30th Anniversary, with the bands first ever show having taken place at celebrated Liverpool venue Erics almost thirty years ago to the day.
Front man Ian McCulloch explains "Because of the overwhelming response to our Royal Albert Hall 'Ocean Rain' show in September – which is sold out – I decided that we should take it around the world - New York, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Moscow amongst other cities. Obviously, my home city, the place I love and live in had to be there."
Promoters SJM concerts added, "We're proud to be promoting Echo & The Bunnymen on their 30th Anniversary in their home town. This promises to be a seminal show, at a fanstastic new arena in a city with a magnificent musical heritage"
Tickets go on sale Friday April 4th @ 9am.
