Ed Sheeran 'booted guests out of EMA after-party'

Singer Ed Sheeran's MTV EMA after-party reportedly ended with him ushering guests out because he was desperate to go to bed.

The British star co-hosted the Europe Music Awards with Ruby Rose in Milan, Italy, on Sunday (25Oct15) and caused giggles with his drunken antics on stage. Not content with boozing his way through the event, at which he scooped two awards, the 24-year-old took things back to his penthouse suite at the ME Hotel, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper. Justin Bieber and Ruby were among the guests but after a strong start, Ed apparently decided it was time to call it a night.

"Trollies full of Jagerbombs were being shipped to Ed's room on the top floor," an insider told Britain's The Mirror newspaper. "They kept calling down requesting more, along with bottles and bottles of champagne. "By now, it was 3am and Ed was getting a bit tired and emotional. People still wanted to party, but he was in his night clothes and wanted to go to bed so he politely sent them all downstairs."

But even if Ed was flagging at the end, it seems the rest of the party went down well. Ruby wouldn't even let her leg injury, which she sustained on the set of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, stop her from busting some moves.

"It got pretty raucous. Ruby ended up on crutches because her filming injury flared up again," the source added.

"And she ended up having a dance-off with Rudimental's Piers, who's also on crutches."

And it's likely Justin also had an amazing night after picking up a staggering five awards at the ceremony. He and Ed seem to have become close, with the 21-year-old star even mentioning him in a tweet after the big night.

"Incredible night last night. Thank you. @edsheeran u were an aight host :) (sic)," he wrote.
