Ed Sheeran is over the moon about performing with Elton John at the Grammy Awards.
The British singer-and-songwriter's tune The A Team has a Song of the Year nod at this year's ceremony.
Ed and Elton will share the stage with each other at the event and the young musician is "stoked" about crooning with such a musical icon.
"I can't wait to kind of just be involved in the whole thing. Just to be going is an honour, but to be nominated and performing is nuts," he told MTV News.
Ed didn't initiate the duet.
He is humbled by the fact that Elton reached out to him.
"He put it together. He rung me up one day and said, 'How would you feel about performing with me at the Grammys?' I was like, 'I'll check my schedule,' " Ed laughed.
"He's been in touch for the past kind of three years, but has mostly become very prominent when we started to break the States, 'cause he knows the States like the back of his hand."
Ed is putting a lot of thought into his performance.
He wants to impress American audiences.
"I think we got a rehearsal a day before the Grammys, so it's kind of going to be last-minute, but it'll work out," he said.
"The thing is, when I've done it in England, they are my peers, I know them... but I'm performing in front of people that have never even heard of me, so I've got to really make an impression. It's gonna be fun."
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 10.
