Ed Sheeran will be somewhere off in the distant "wilderness" isolated from society during his upcoming break.
The 24-year-old British singer has been working nonstop for over 18 months and his professional momentum will not cease until the end of the year (15).
Ed has revealed he'll be taking some much needed time off starting 1 January (16) and it will be difficult to get in touch with him when his holiday commences.
"My plan is to get rid of my iPhone, get rid of Internet, get a Nokia 3310 and just go off into the wilderness somewhere for a bit," he told MTV News. "Even if it's just a month without contact with other people."
Ed noted he is finding himself using his smartphone all the time as of late.
The Sing hitmaker is tired of being addicted to his mobile and is looking forward to being free of technology for a bit.
"I've got to a point where I just don't want to do that anymore and that's my life and my career," he explained. "But when I'm in my time off and I don't have to do it, I'm just going to get rid of it."
Even though Ed is craving a technological hiatus, he does have reservations about not being plugged in.
But the star is pushing for a clean break from the Internet no matter what, as he is committed to restoring a sense of peace.
"I'm worried that as soon as I do that, I'll get an email that I won't see from someone being like 'We should do something,' six months later they'll be like 'you never replied,'" the musician said of his fears of being out of the technological loop.
"I'm out, and my view is if people don't understand that then I don't really want to be friends with them."
