Singer Ed Sheeran is taking a break from social media to get back to normality.
The 24-year-old Brit is known for his regular Twitter and Instagram posts, landing him over 20 million followers online. With his busy agenda at the moment including promoting his documentary movie Jumpers for Goalposts, Ed has decided he needs a relaxation period and has a well-deserved timeout from technology coming up.
"I'll put a post out saying, 'I'm with friends and family - if you love me you'll allow me to disappear for a few months and I'll speak to you in a bit,'" he told Britain's The Sun newspaper.
"I think a break for me is coming off my phone, social media and emails. I am constantly on my phone, texting, replying to emails, on Twitter, on Snapchat, on Facebook. I just want to get off it and live and drive to places and listen to music and have normal conversations with people and get back to normality. I've got a packed schedule, then, when December 12 (end date of Ed's x Tour) comes, it's done."
Ed was talking from the red carpet of his feature's premiere in London, UK, on Thursday (22Oct15) night. It's been a busy 2015 for the redheaded musician, who has picked up accolades including two BRITs, an Ivor Novello Award and two People's Choice Awards so far. His music has earned him countless famous fans, one of which was present at Thursday's event. Justin Bieber, 21, had Ed's help on new album Purpose, and the Lego House singer has praised the way the former bad boy re-built his reputation following negative publicity including egging his neighbour's house last year (14).
"The British public kind of fell out of love with Bieber but he's redeemed himself," Ed added. "The one thing Bieber has done is he's always released good music."
