Singer Ed Sheeran has passed his driving test, nine months after he first got behind the wheel for UK TV show Top Gear.
The Thinking Out Loud singer's first ever driving experience was on the racecourse for the motoring show's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment in January (15). He is now an official licence holder after completing the practical test in Ipswich, England, on Thursday (29Oct15).
His driving instructor posted a picture of the star holding his certificate, while dressed in onesie, on social media, and wrote, "Congratulations to Ed S who passed his car test with us in Ipswich this afternoon. Good effort Ed!!!"
Ed also celebrated on Twitter by writing, "Passed my driving test yesterday, zoom zoom zoom."
He had a few close shaves when he filmed his Top Gear lap, narrowly missing posts and careering off the track. He admits he signed up despite the lack of experience for a laugh.
"Before today I had never sat in the driving seat or put my hand on the steering wheel," he said at the time. "The reason I said 'yes' to Top Gear is that I thought it would be funny that the first time I drive (is on TV)... It was interesting. I had some funny bloopers."
Ed is planning a hiatus in December (15) and he hopes to go travelling in his set of wheels. He recently said, "I think a break for me is coming off my phone, social media and emails... I just want to get off it and live and drive to places and listen to music and have normal conversations with people and get back to normality."
His x Tour is currently on a break but kicks off again in Brisbane, Australia, on 28 November 2015. He'll play Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in the country, before finishing up in Auckland, New Zealand, on 12 December 2015.
