Elliott Smith's final studio album will be released this autumn.
Smith's father, Gary Smith, posted a message on Smith's Sweet Adeline message board, saying that mixing and the final production work on the singer's final record.
Before his Oct. 21 suicide, Smith recorded From a Basement on the Hill, and, through an arrangement with DreamWorks Records, was set to release it on an independent label this year. His family will announce the label later this month.
