The Peace One Day concert marks the last major event of the London 2012 Festival as well as Elton John's only gig in the buzzing capital city: undisputedly the global hub of the year.
Alongside performances by the BRIT award-winning James Morrison and internet sensations 2Cellos, there will be contributions from Peace One Day ambassador Jude Law and the organisation's founder, Carnegie Wateler Peace prize-winner, Jeremy Gilley.
The show is set to be the biggest event of Peace One Day's groundbreaking 13-year history.
The non-profit organisation, which in 2001 led a process that resulted in the unanimous adoption by UN member states of the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence, works to institutionalise the idea of 'Peace One Day' on 21 September each year.
The Wembley Arena show, which will be filmed in HD and broadcast internationally, is the final in a trilogy of Peace One Day concerts produced as part of the London 2012 Festival, the spectacular nationwide celebration giving the opportunity for people across the UK to celebrate the London 2012.
Olympic and Paralympic Games. The second show in Derry-Londonderry on Thursday 21st June 2012 was the opening event of the London 2012 Festival in Northern Ireland and marked the three-month countdown to Peace Day 2012.
The Wembley Arena show will handover to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, whilst culminating this year's Olympic Truce, as well as celebrating the Global Truce of Peace Day 2012.
