Overview
The 63-year-old star may have performed at William's mother Princess Diana's funeral in 1997 but he admitted at the premiere of Gnomeo & Juliet that he isn't close with the young Prince.
Speaking about Prince William, who will marry Kate Middleton in April, and his brother Prince Harry, he said to US website Hollyscoop: 'I don't know them very well.
'I've only met them twice - once when they were young and once at the Diana Memorial Concert.'
Asked if he will be performing at the wedding, he said: 'No. I'm not playing at the wedding. I haven't been asked and I don't expect to be asked.'
