Sir Elton John has recorded a new version of 'Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting' for the movie Gnomeo & Juliet as a duet with Nelly Furtado.
The movie will feature more new songs from Sir Elton has well as some of his classics like 'Bennie and the Jets', 'Tiny Dancer' and 'Your Song' and a version of his classic 'Crocodile Rock' by Nelly.
The two new Elton John songs written by Elton and Bernie Taupin are 'Hello Hello' and 'Love Builds A Garden'. ''ve always written with Bernie. He writes the lyrics and I write the melody, and I like it that way. The film is a big love story and very funny,' Elton said in a statement.
The soundtrack is completed by original music from James Newton-Howard, a one-time member of the Elton John band. Howard has written scores for 'Pretty Woman', 'The Sixth Sense' and will be heard soon on 'The Green Hornet'.
'Gnomeo & Juliet' is an animated movie based on William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Elton was a Executive Producer of the movie. ''Romeo and Juliet' is one of the greatest love stories of all time,' he said. 'And garden gnomes are huge in many countries throughout the world. We thought this would be a really good idea.'
The soundtrack will be released on February 11.
