Elton John still likes Madonna. He tells Entertainment Weekly he doesn't want to escalate matters after he accused her of lip-synching. He says it was something that was said in the heat of the moment and probably should not have been said. John made the comment at Britain's Q Awards in London earlier this month. He says the event was like "a very drunken lunch." What surprised him is how crazy everyone went over his comment.
He says, "It was like I said, 'I think all gays should be killed or I think Hitler was right."'
