Elvis Costello is currently out on a solo tour of the U.S. east coast and settled for two nights (Monday and Tuesday) at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.
Costello likes to change things up nightly but the solo tour allows him to be his most flexible with songs from his lengthy catalog along with a few covers. Between the two nights, he only duplicated eight songs: Cinco Minutos Con Vos, Walkinf My Baby Back Home, Watching the Detectives, A Slow Drag With Josephine, Shipbuilding, Alison, Tripwire and (Whatfs So Funny fbout) Peace Love and Understanding.
On Monday, there was a sequence during his one encore with some true rarities including Radio Soul from his pre-solo days with the group Flip City, the Pete Seeger cover Which Side Are You On? and The Scarlet Tide from the movie Cold Mountain.
Night two also was interesting with four songs from Costellofs 1982 album Imperial Ballroom and a number of bonus and deluxe edition-only tracks.
