Eminem has hit back at long-standing claims that his music contains homophobic and misogynistic lyrics.
The rapper said he felt like he was being “singled out” when critics initially condemned songs like 'Kill You', which includes the line: “Whether you're a fag or a lez.”
"Yeah, the scene that I came up in, that word was thrown around so much, you know?” Eminem said.
“F*ggot was, like, it was thrown around constantly, to each other, like in battling, you know what I mean?"
In a candid interview with CBS, Eminem insisted that he didn't have a problem with gay people and that it was up to parents to take responsibility for their own children.
"I feel like it's your job to parent them. If you're the parent, be a parent,” Eminem said.
The rapper also revealed during the interview that he was bullied as a child because he changed school a lot.
