DJ Tim Westwood says Eminem is more influential than President Bush after his new album made history.
Encore went straight to the top of our charts after just two days of sales - the quickest anyone has done it.
Britney Spears' greatest hits album was heading for No1 but Eminem easily outstripped it despite being on sale for only a third of the time.
Tim said: "Eminem is as important and influential as any politician - maybe more so because he has the ear of the hip-hop generation.
"If you want to access today's youth it's through hip-hop. The people he is speaking to are the youth who wouldn't vote. If he ever went into politics he would be excellent."
Around 130,000 copies of Encore were bought, even though thousands of poeple had down loaded it after it was leaked on to the internet.
Radio 1's Tim reckons Eminem is one of the best wordsmiths to ever live.
He said: "He is up there with some of the greatest lyricists in history - I'm talking the like of Shakespeare. In the hip-hop game he's one of the greatest of all time."
