Eminem is to pay for the funeral of his uncle who committed suicide.
The hip-hop star has offered to cover the costs of the ceremony for Todd Nelson, who shot himself in the head after becoming depressed about a sheriff's Rottweiler, which was allegedly terrorising his family.
However, it is not known whether Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers - will attend the service, as he is worried about the press attention reports.
A source said: "Marshall will pay for it all. Todd was not very well off and Marshall's gesture has been welcomed by the family."
Todd became a father figure to the rap star after his own dad walked out on him when he was a baby and the pair formed a very close relationship.
Eminem's grandmother, Betty Kresin, said the family were "completely devastated" at Todd's death.
It is the second close relative Eminem has lost in recent years - his uncle Ronnie killed himself when he was dumped by his girlfriend.
Four years ago, Eminem's ex-wife, Kim, attempted to take her own life and his mother, Debbie Mathers, is currently recovering from breast cancer.
