Welcome to the Daily Gossip: your daily stop-off to find out what the stars of the music world have been up to in the tabloids and beyond, with the help of plenty of 'anonymous sources'.
Today's top gossip:
Although he’s in the running for two Brit Awards, it seems that Eminem won’t be gracing the ceremony with his presence, we read. The rapper has apparently told organisers that, unless he is guaranteed to win either Best International Male Solo Artist or Best International Album, he won’t show up.
However, the organisers have since disputed the reason for him not planning to come along, calling the reports doing the rounds "fabrication" and saying that the timing of this show "simply didn’t work with his schedule" (various).
From the papers and beyond:
P. Diddy flew into London yesterday (January 19) after hyping up his UK visit with a series of tweets, but it all fell a bit flat for the rapping mogul. After arriving Diddy went straight to his hotel after doctors told him not to talk amid fears he’d lose his voice. He cancelled sessions with Tinie Tempah and Skepta and was forced to mime on The Album Chart Show. He tweeted later: "This flu is kicking my ass" (various).
From a man losing his voice to someone most people wish would lose his. According to the red-tops Wynne Evans, best known as the opera singer from the Go Compare adverts, has apparently agreed to help Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones work on new material (The Sun).
Alexandra Burke has said she wants to play a host of festivals next summer. The X Factor winner said: "I would love to play Glastonbury, V Festival, Wireless and Isle Of Wight Festival, I need to get involved and I have a hot band." She only played the first night of her tour last night… (Daily Star).
Finally, Irish pop buffoons Jedward are left counting the cost of an impulse buy, we read. The pair splashed out over £15,000 on a series of items bought from a Michael Jackson memorabilia auction, including one of the singer’s old bedsheets. But, on arrival in the UK, the items were slapped with a £6,000 customs charge and as a result the boys haven’t been able to afford to get them released. The pair are ‘gutted’, apparently. You would be (The Sun).
