Emmy Rossum has landed a role in a star-studded drama based on an Oscar-winning short film.
The 26-year-old actress will star alongside Ron Perlman and Paul Wesley in the feature-length adaptation of Shawn Christensen's Curfew, according to Deadline.
The project earned the writer, director and actor the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short in February.
The extended version will mark Shawn's feature film directorial debut.
Curfew the short follows Shawn's down-and-out character Richie as his estranged sister calls him to look after her 11-year-old daughter for one evening.
The new version will be "loosely based" on that plot.
Fatima Ptacek will reprise her role as Richie's niece.
Shawn will produce alongside Damon Russell, Paul Wesley, Terry Leonard, Lucan Toh, Oliver Roskill and Emily Leo.
Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
Emmy is the star of hit US television Shameless.
She will next hit the big screen in George C. Wolfe drama You're Not You, followed by Sam Esmail comedic drama Comet.
Both films are currently in post-production for a 2013 and 2014 release, respectively.
Ron Perlman is currently starring in action drama Pacific Rim.
The actor has another 12 films in the works through 2014, according to IMDb.
Among those is the rumoured role of Hellboy in Guillermo del Toro's newly-announced Hellboy 3.
