Enrique Iglesias has revealed that he doesn't talk about his relationship to keep it 'special'.
The singer, who is notoriously private, said that if you give away too much about your personal life, it changes things.
The Spanish star, who is currently finishing off his Euphoria tour, has been in a relationship with Russian tennis champ Anna Kournikova since 2001, but rarely even acknowledges their love.
' just want it to be special, and the only way to make sure it's special is by just making it as private as possible, and if you talk about those things that are special to you and that are close to your heart, it's not the same anymore,' he said during an interview with music channel VH1. 'Some people say love you with such ease, and for me it's always been a difficult word to say. All I can tell you is the first time I said it, I truly, truly meant it.'
Enrique also opened up about his strained relationship with his famous father Julio Iglesias.
Talking about his childhood, the 36-year-old insisted that he understands that music always came first for Grammy award winner Julio.
'A lot of people always ask, do you feel bad that your dad wasn't able to take you to school every day. And I always think, I go, no. No, cause I never looked at it that way. I wouldn't change anything. My father was great, he loves his career. He probably loves his career more than anything but I understand,' he said.
'Whenever I have to explain the relationship that my father and I have, for a lot of people it would be very difficult to understand. I don't feel like I have to sit in front of my father and tell him sorry or he has to tell me sorry. There's nothing to be sorry about it. I love him, I respect him and I understand him.'
