Enrique Iglesias doesn't want to be "touring constantly" when he becomes a dad.
The 38-year-old pop star began dating tennis player and model Anna Kournikova in 2001, and the happy couple currently live in Miami, Florida together.
Although Enrique is happy with life as is, the singer believes some drastic changes need to be made should he decide to settle down and have a family.
"I've said in many of my interviews that I don't think [marriage] will make me any happier, and I'm not against it by any means," Enrique told Access Hollywood.
"And kids, yeah, at some point I would. Hopefully the day I have kids I'll just lay back a bit and not travel as much and be touring constantly. I don't want to be on the road for six months, eight months, come back and not recognise my own child."
Enrique is currently promoting his tenth studio album Sex and Love, which was released on March 14.
And the star admits he is so sensitive that even being away from his pets for too long spawns emotional sorrow.
"I already have a tough time with my dogs leaving my house and then coming back you know, a month later, and it's always sad whenever I leave my house," he said.
"Although, I have made a rule in the past few years that I try to be not out on the road more than 15 days in a row. That's important to me. I need that balance in my life."
