Eskimo Disco get their skates on

Tuesday 7th November saw Protest and Eskimo Disco hold the unforgettable 'Showcase On Ice' at Liverpool Street's Broadgate Ice Rink. Attended by hundreds of media folks and adoring fans, the party celebrated the launch of Eskimo Disco's debut single on Protest Recordings - '7 11', which features the legendary Pingu in his first ever music video.

The coolest event of the season featured a dynamic half hour performance by the band that was met with great acclaim, with a giant screen backdrop displaying the now much-loved Pingu video. Nearing ¼ million views on YouTube in less than a month since going live, the brand new and exclusive outing from everyone's favourite plasticine penguin lovingly homages pop culture favourites ranging from Britney Spears to Easy Rider as he bops away to the band's groovy number. Tipped to be the Christmas Number One, the track will be available to download from major e-retailers from 20th November, and will be available as a CD single/video collection from high street stores later this year.

The Broadgate Ice Rink was the perfect venue for this arctic-themed release party, with even the grumpiest of journalists walking away with beaming grins (despite some sore bums!). Even the unsuspecting public gladly joined in on the fun, with office workers and passers-by enjoying the performance with great enthusiasm. Videos clips of the event captured on mobile phones are already appearing on YouTube, and the word has spread across the industry that both Protest and the wonderful Eskimo Disco can host an event that no one will forget in the winter rush.
