The Best New Artist Grammy winner touched down at Narita International Airport, hours after having her Wikipedia page vandalised by Bieber supporters, who believed he should have won the music award.
Esperanza's Wikipedia page was targeted by web users who wrote: 'Justin Bieber deserved it, go die in a hole. Who the heck are you anyway?'
Bieber himself was more gracious in defeat, writing: 'Of course I wanted to win. It's been and still is a dream to win a Grammy. Was I upset? ... Yes. But I was happy for her also.'
Spalding, a talented young jazz musician who plays the double bass, has dates scheduled at Tokyo's trendy Bluenote club in Omotesando.
