Factory Floor, O Children and Mazes were among the acts who helped kick off this year's In The City festival tonight (October 13).
Taking place across various venues in Manchester, the event is designed to showcase the best unsigned bands.
Other acts who also performed tonight included No Age, D/R/U/G/S, Brown Brogues and Brontide.
Earlier in the day as part of the music industry-related conferences at the festival, Elbow's Guy Garvey stood up for musicians who are getting ripped off by promoters.
Tomorrow (October 14) sees the likes of 1913, Egyptian hip hop, Pulled Apart By Horses and Sky Larkin all set to perform.
