Fearne Cotton calls off engagement

Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton and skateboarder Jesse Jenkins have called off their engagement after their relationship came to a “mutual end” last month.

Cotton started dating Jenkins in 2006 and after an on-off relationship and eight months of being engaged, she split from the skateboarder last month.

Although the split was mutual, Cotton was said to be “sad” over the split after she realised the relationship was just not working.

A friend told the Sunday Mirror, “It just wasn’t meant to be. The same problems were there before were still there. She’s sad about it but they  are going to remain friends.”

Fearne has previously said that she wanted to follow in the steps of her good friend Holly Willoughby and create a family of her own.

“Having a family of my own is really important, more than anything,” she said recently. “ It’s about finding a life partner who’s your best friend.”
