Fenech-Soler, The Wombats and Dry The River are among the 19 acts to have received funding from the Government's Music Export Growth Scheme.
The Heavy, Waylayers, Imogen Heap and Hadouken are also among the acts that have been chosen to share from a £250,000 pot of funding. The impetus is for the acts to improve international sales, with £750,000 given away since the scheme first started in October. Metronomy, Young Fathers and Slow Club are among the previous winners.
"We are seeing the money being successfully used to launch or build on international careers," said John Kennedy, chair of the Music Export Growth Cheme. "The variety of uses that successful applicants are making of the funds is itself a testament to the innovation that these grants can drive."
£1,750,000 has been made available for bands over the next two years, set aside by the government to help 100,000 small businesses export. Musicians will largely be using their grants to tour overseas and expand the market. The next date the scheme is open to applicants will be 12 August.
"From The Beatles to Adele to Mumford & Sons, Britannia rules the airwaves and sells more records around the world than almost any other country," said trade minister Lord Livingston. "This exporting strength brings jobs and economic growth to the UK and the Music Export Growth Scheme lets up-and-coming British artists up the tempo on the international stage."
