Following confirmation last week that Florence & The Machine will win the Critics Choice award at the Brits next February, an award given to artists tipped to succeed in the coming year, Florence's new single 'Dog Days Are Over' has been shortlisted in the 2008 CMU Track Of The Year poll, despite only being released last week.
The CMU Track Of The Year poll is based on votes by readers of the the UK music business bulletin the CMU Daily, which includes thousands of people working across the music industry and the music media, from top execs at the biggest music and media companies to individuals working in the grass roots music community.
Also shortlisted in the poll are great tracks from Mercury Music Prize winners Elbow, and some of the newer artists who have created the most noise this year, including Glasvegas, Katy Perry, MGMT and Santogold.
