Foo Fighters have been reportedly recording their brand new studio album in studios across the globe, but the band came together on Monday night (5 May, 2014) for a secret show at Washington's 9:30 Club.
The band performed at a birthday party for Go-Go legend 'Big Tony' at the venue, where they reportedly smashed out a two-hour, 17 song set of greatest hits from their back catalogue. They did not play any new music. Stateside reports also reveal that Grohl climbed onto the bar during the band's secret show, continuing to play the guitar while knocking back a shot of Jaeger. The band's Washington gig was so comprehensive a show, it also included a three-track encore, so this was anything but impromptu.

Foo Fighters recently revealed photos from their current album recording sessions, but to be honest, they were mostly pictures of the band dicking around with beer and guns. Which sets expectations high for their upcoming, 2014 release.
